Stock indexes fall again
The Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart both suffered losses at the end of the February 15 trading session.
The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) dipped 7.43 point to finish at 816.03 points with more than 5.8 million shares, worth over 444 billion VND, changing hands.
Up to 111 of 149 listed stocks went down while the others made gains or remained unchanged.
Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC), General Forwarding and Agency Corp. (GMD), Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) were among the biggest losers.
Meanwhile, the Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre’s HaSTC-Index also suffered a slight fall of 3.14 points to close at 282.08 points. Around 2.6 million shares were sold at nearly 194 billion VND.
The domestic stock market’s declining trend in recent time was attributed to the imbalance between supply and demand, said Ta Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the State Securities Commission’s Market Development Department.
She added that unpredictable fluctuations in the world market were also blamed for the downward trend.
