Both bourses experience slight recovery
The Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart experienced a slight recovery at the end of the January 18 trading session after one day of big losses.
The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) jumped 13.24 points to finish at 847.05 points with more than 5.8 million shares, worth over 476 billion VND, being traded.
Among the biggest movers of the day were Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL) (up 12,000 VND per unit), Gemadept Corporation (GMD) ( up 5,000 VND) and Hoa Binh Construction and Real Estate (HBC) (up 3,5000 VND).
In Ha Noi, the HaSTC-Index increased 5.13 points to close at 288.03 points. More than 3.2 million shares, worth over 262 billion VND, changed hands.
Strong increases were seen in listed prices of several shares including the groups of Song Da construction shares like Song Da 9 (SJM) (6,700 VND) and Song Da 9.06 (S96) (5,200 VND).
“The blue will hardly dominate the board for a long time as it takes time for the State Securities Commission’s measures to take effect,” said investors.
