More opportunities for Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia
There will be more opportunities for Vietnamese exports to Cambodia 2012 as its economy is showing signs of quick recovery, says Phan Van Chinh, Director of the Impor-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to the Department’s statistics, Vietnam remains one of Cambodia’s leading trade partners with two-way trade turnover reaching US$2.8 billion last year, exports to Cambodia increased by 53 percent to US$2.4 billion thanks to the recovery of the Cambodian economy and the sales of made-in-Vietnam products at reasonable prices.
Vietnamese businesses have invested in 50 projects in Cambodia with a total capitalization of US$8 billion with a focus on rubber planting, aviation, telecommunications, food processing, tourism, construction materials, and mining.
The two countries’ leaders have paid due attention to boosting bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, transport, agro-forestry-fishery, tourism, aviation, energy, education-training, health care and sports.
Economic cooperation projects between Vietnamese and Cambodian localities are paying off well.
