Vietnam and Belgium: Promoting financial and external economic relationship

Minister of Finance of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue had met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Belgium Didier Reynders on 6th December 2011 in Brussels.

The two sides had discussed and exchanged on public debt management, fiscal and monetary policies, experiences of Belgium upon admission to EU which could be useful for Vietnam upon admission to ASEAN economic community by 2015. Minister Hue also informed on current socio-economic situation of Vietnam and the country’s macroeconomic policies, development orientations and restructuring plan on key economic sectors in coming time.

Minister Hue highly appreciated the cooperation and support rendered to Vietnam by the Belgian Government and Finance Ministry in general and of Mr. Didier Reynders in particular and thereby wished to receive further support in promoting the signing of Vietnam-EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement as well as promoting negotiation on Vietnam-EU FTA. He highlighted Vietnam Finance Ministry would make every efforts to strengthen cooperative cooperation between the two ministries and support Belgian enterprises investing in Vietnam, contributing to a more effective partnership relation of the two Governments.

Mr. Didier Reynders affirmed to render further support to Vietnam in promoting partnership cooperation with the Kingdom of Belgium and EU as well as promoting financial, investment, external economic relation with Vietnam.
