UK, Vietnam sign aviation cooperation agreement

Vietnam’s Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang and the UK’s Vice Secretary of Transport Mike Penning signed an aviation cooperation agreement on December 8 within the framework of the National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s visit to the UK.

Under the agreement, aviation agencies from both countries will make full use of the existing air routes to strengthen aviation cooperation.

Vietnam Airlines’ recent opening of a Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City-London air route marked a new step towards closer cooperation in boosting tourism industry.

On the same day, Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue worked with Vice Secretary of Finance James Sassoon to discuss measures to promote close cooperation between the two ministries.

Minister Hue praised the UK Department of Finance’s support for Vietnam and expressed his hope that Vietnam will continue to get further assistance from the UK in financial and public debt management.

Sassoon appreciated Vietnam’s efforts to restructure its economy.
