Nearly 87,000 new employees needed in 2nd quarter
Companies in Ho Chi Minh City will need 87,000 employees in the second quarter, a rise of 10 percent over the first quarter, according to the city’s centre for forecasting manpower needs and labour market information.
Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the centre, said that “many manufacturing and trading companies need to recruit more people at this time of the year because of more orders.” Most of them do business in electronics, mechanics, and garments.
The centre’s report shows that more than 10,000 out of the 87,000 employees are needed for the city’s industrial and export processing zones.
In addition, there is a need for skilled workers in trading, marketing, IT, finance and banking, accountancy, audit, health and pharmacy.
Employees are looking for stability and social welfare benefits, and are also paying attention to working conditions when seeking jobs, according to a recent survey of 80,000 people seeking jobs during the first quarter.
