Developing e-commerce 2011-2015

E-commerce will become an effective key tool for business and trading in 2011-2015.

A seminar on developing e-commerce for the 2011-2015 period was held in Hanoi on April 19.

Thirty-two provinces and cities have already created e-commerce development plans in line with the general development plan for 2010-2015, which was approved by the Prime Minister.

At the seminar measures to build and implement the plan were discussed along with improving the capacity to apply e-commerce and information and communication technologies (ICT) in State management and to support businesses. Advanced e-commerce solutions and the ability of e-commerce to improve the competitive edge were also introduced.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Le Danh Vinh, said that e-commerce and ICT applications are an indispensable part of any business strategy, especially for small-and medium-sized enterprises.

He said he hopes that the seminar will encourage the Ministry and departments of Industry and Trade to promote e-commerce as an effective tool which is key for businesses to increase their competitive edge in the process of international integration.
