Registered FDI capital on decline

Forty Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects were granted licenses with a total registered capitalisation of US$182.3 million in January, equal to 15.6 percent of the level recorded in the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency.

With another five projects newly added with US$5.3 million, the total amount of foreign investment capital reached no more than US$187.6 million, showing a sharp decrease of 84.3 percent.

By late January, as much as US$420 million had been disbursed, up by 5 percent.
