Ha Noi's GDP tipped to jump 11% this year
The capital's gross domestic production is expected to increase 11 per cent this year against 2009, says a report to the Ha Noi People's Committee.
The growth is about two per cent higher than the goal set at the beginning of the year and 1.67 time higher than national GDP growth.
The total includes 11.9 per cent tourism growth.
Other figures include construction industry-growth of 11.5 per cent and 6.2 per cent for agriculture.
Export revenue is forecast to rise 20.8 per cent - four times higher than the target.
Visitors to Ha Noi are forecast to total about 8.8 million -a year-on-year increase of 14 per cent. The number of foreigners is likely to total about 1.2 million, up 20.5 per cent against last year.
Capital mobilised from society is expected to total more than VND175 trillion (US$8.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 18.5 per cent.
About 17,500 enterprises have been established this year with total registered capital of VND93.5 trillion ($4.7 billion).
The city has supported about 22,500 families living in poverty with more than 3,260 houses refurbished and 80 national-standard schools built.
The People's Committee plans to increase GDP 12-13 per cent in 2011.
The figures in the report were made available when the People's Committee discussed implementation of socio-economic, security and defence goals for 2010 as well as plans for 2011.
