Southern hub goes ahead with price-stabilizing measures
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Le Hoang Quan, has asked relevant agencies to ensure a sufficient supply of goods and take other necessary measures to maintain the stability of prices after the Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
The city is actively developing distribution, wholesale, and retail networks to expand domestic markets and support the ‘Vietnamese use Vietnamese goods’ campaign. It is willing to ensure sufficient capital for production and trade operations and quickly handle any arising difficulties faced by enterprises.
In addition, HCM City has strengthened the management of prices on the market and the supervision of food hygiene and safety, raising public awareness of state policies related to prices and inflation.
Functional agencies are closely monitoring the city’s markets to curb any local imbalances, especially regarding essential goods, and pre-empt any attempt at a monopoly.
Businesses are encouraged to make technological innovations with the aim of minimizing both materials and production costs.
During Tet, HCM City was successful in stabilizing the prices of commodities. Thirteen businesses were provided with zero-rate loans worth VND422.5 billion in total to stockpile eight groups of essential commodities.
