SBV and MOIT enhance co-operation
Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) joined Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Minister of Industry and Trade, in signing the Agreement on cooperation between the two ministries at the MOIT head office in Hanoi on August 21 in order to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in implementing the tasks assigned by the Government and the Communist Party.
The Agreement focuses on promoting export, controlling trade deficit, managing foreign exchange, tackling difficulties, supporting production, enhancing market management and strictly dealing with violations of foreign exchange management.
Accordingly, the relevant entities of the SBV and the MOIT will submit the monthly reports to their management boards on cooperation review and cooperation plans for the coming time. In addition, provincial and municipal departments of Industry and Trade and SBV branches must hold monthly meetings to review cooperation in their locations and work out their future cooperation plans to be submitted to the leaders of the SBV, the MOIT and the People’s Committees.
Moreover, the leaders of the SBV and the MOIT will make their quarterly cooperation review and set out the cooperation plan for the next quarter. The SBV and the MOIT will review the implementation of this Agreement in end 2009.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Governor Nguyen Van Giau and Minister Nguyen Huy Hoang emphasized their efforts in enhancing cooperation between the two institutions, since, they said, this enhanced cooperation is of paramount importance for the achievement of the objectives of socio-economic development of the whole nation.
