Vietnam gold prices up slightly
Saigon Jewelry Holding Company (SJC) announced Thursday gold prices rose by VND50,000 per tael over Wednesday to VND20.93 million (US$1,175) per tael (1.2 ounce) in Ho Chi Minh City.
In Hanoi, a tael cost VND20.95 million, the company said.
In the world market, gold was $931.9 per ounce at 5:30 p.m. Vietnam time Thursday, the same as the previous day, but there were times it was $940 per ounce during the day.
According to the Vietnam Gold Business (VGB), the US market is closed today to observe the National Independence Day, so the world market may not be as busy as usual in the evening session.
However, information on the European market in the afternoon may cause a considerable change, it added.
