Military enterprises’ competitive capacity improvement discussed
A discussion entitled ‘Looking for solutions to raise competitive capacity during the period of economic slowdown’ was held by the Economic Department under the Ministry of National Defence on May 22.
The discussion also aims to seek solutions to help military enterprises overcome difficulties in the current period.
Delegates said that the world economic crisis had adversely affected the Vietnamese economy since 2008. Enterprises in general and military enterprises in particular are facing a lot of difficulties in their production and business.
According to Dr. Pham Viet Muon, Vice Chairman of the Government Office and Permanent Deputy Head of the Government’s Steering Board for Enterprise Innovation, there are 84 military enterprises. One of the solutions to overcome their current difficulties is that they have to reorganise their operational apparatus in order to improve the production and business effectiveness and bring into full play their existing potentials in order to raise their competitive edge on the market.
Speaking at the discussion, Dr. Le Danh Nghia, Deputy Head of the National Financial Supervision Committee, emphasised that the preferred fields that the economic stimulus packages are focusing on are the golden opportunities the enterprises should use.
In his opinion, three Vietnamese industries which will emerge soonest from the economic downturn are construction, agricultural products processing and electronics.
