Vietnam Airlines offers 25-percent discount for French tourists

The number of French tourists to Vietnam is expected to increase sharply from April 21 to June 19 and from August 21 to October 20 thanks to a 25-percent discount in airfare for return flights offered by Vietnam Airlines.

The airlines’ spokesperson Trinh Ngoc Thanh said on February 9 that this is part of a special promotion programme of Vietnam Airlines in coordination with a number of travel agents in France in response to a large-scale promotion campaign entitled “Impressive Vietnam,” which was launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the aim of attracting more foreign visitors in 2009.

At present, the promotion programme has been introduced widely on popular French websites, such as Le Monde, Courrier International, Yahoo Voyage, Telerama and the website of Vietnam Airlines in France.

On the first day of launching, the airlines’ representative office in Paris received telephone calls from many passengers. More than 2,000 hits were counted on Vietnam Airlines’ website at http://www.vietnamairlines.fr/offre.htm, four times higher than previously.
